Pre-approval process
When should I get the mortgage process started?
Often times people start looking for houses before they find out what they qualify for. They use mortgage calculators they find online and assume they know how much they can borrow based off of a payment a calculator gives them. Those calculators are good for a basic understanding of payment, but they don’t set up a mortgage plan for you and let you know exactly how much something costs. There is more to the process than just the payment. Did you know it typically takes 30 days from the beginning of the contract to close a loan? This is where Chris can help. Talk with him over the phone or sit down with him in person to discuss your mortgage plan.
The earlier you start the mortgage process, the better prepared you are to make a credible offer. Generally, real estate agents like to work with buyers who have spoken to lenders and realistically know what they can afford. It lets them find the right homes for you to tour and streamline your home search process.
